RAMONA J.S. MARTIN
Waynesboro, Pa. - Ramona J. Sprenkle Martin, 95, of 52 N. Potomac St., died Saturday, Feb. 12, at Waynesboro Hospital in Waynesboro.
Born in Fountaindale, Adams County, Pa., Aug. 22, 1898, she was the daughter of the late Samuel G. and Jessie Kate Deihl Sprenkle. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank C. Martin, in 1986. They were married in March 1916.
In her early life, she was employed by the Waynesboro Knitting Mill as a machine operator for five years.
She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro.
She was a member of the North Chapter No. 739 AARP and the National AARP.
She is survived by one son, Wilbur H. Martin of Waynesboro; two sisters, Ethel Brake of Waynesboro and Virginia Bronner of Hollywood, F1a; two brothers, Lester Sprenkle of South Mountain, Pa., and Omar Sprenkle of Quincy United Methodist Home, Quincy, Pa.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand- children. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Genevieve E. Carbaugh, in 1993; two sisters; and one brother.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, with Pastor Richard A. Seaks officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends "at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 7 to 9.
Memorial donations may be made to the Waynesboro Senior Center, 217 West North St., Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.
