He married Alta Hales on February 28, 1923 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later soleminized in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was an Elder and Home Teacher in the LDS Church.
He was past President of the Fielding Cemetery District.
Surviving are his wife, Fielding, Utah; four sons: Keith H Coombs, Fielding, Utah; Verl Coombs, Fielding, Utah; VerNon H Coombs, Salt Lake City, Utah; Theo S Coombs, Tremonton, Utah; two daughters: Mrs Dean (Doris) Lamb, Plymouth, Utah;Mrs Paul (Carol) Foresberg, Fielding. Utah; 21 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also one brother and one sister, Frederick Thomas Coombs, Fielding, Utah and Mrs Glen (Alice) Ward, Riverside, Utah.
Burial was held in the Fielding City Cemetery, Fielding, Utah.
