Alice Coombs Ward
Riverside Alice Coombs Ward, 94, passed away Monday, June 2, 2003 at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton.

She was born on May 12, 1909 in Fielding, Utah the daughter of Thomas Fredrick and Mary Alice Spackman Coombs. She married Glen Morris Ward on October 1, 1929 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on August 4, 1950. Glen died on June 9, 1972.

Alice was reared and educated in Fielding, and graduated from Bear River High School. She served in Farm Bureau leadership positions for 20 years, received the Distinguished Service Award from the State Farm Bureau, 4-H leader for several years, and served as precinct voting registrar.

Alice was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Belmont 2nd Ward. She served in various positions including: Relief Society President, Jr. Sunday School Secretary, Homemaking Leader, MIA Teacher, and a Logan Temple Worker. She is survived by one son ˆ Max C. (Donna) Ward and one daughter ˆ Barbra W. (Richard) Capener all of Riverside; seven grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters, and seven brothers. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, June 6, 2003 at the Belmont 2nd Ward Chapel, with Bishop Jay A. Capener officiating. Friends may call on Thursday, June 5, from 6-8 p.m. at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, and Friday from 10:30 ˆ 11:40 a.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
