Iris was born on September 26, 1891, in Farmington, Utah, a daughter of Thomas Fred and May Alice Spackman Coombs. She moved to Fielding as a child where she received her eduacation.
She served an LDS Mission in California from 1924-26. She was President of the Primary in the Fielding Ward for many years, a Sunday School Teacher and a Relief Society Teacher. She was a member of the Fielding Social Development Club.
Surviving are the following brothers and sisters: Fred Coombs, Lester Coombs, Elmer Coombs, Irvin Coombs, Leo Coombs, all of Fielding, Utah; Dean Coombs; Garland, Utah; Mrs Glen (Alice) Ward, Riverside, Utah; Mrs J M (Nellie) Fife, Salinas California.
Burial was held in the Fielding City Cemetery, Fielding, Utah.
