Robert Souter, 74, formerly of Provo, died Saturday [14 November 1959] in an Ogden hospital following an illness of several months.
He was born March 17, 1885, in Liverpool, England, and came to Provo as a young man. He was a resident of the Provo Fifth Ward [of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints] and filled a mission in Ireland from 1924 to 1926.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Roe Souter; six children, Mrs. Paul (Irma) Hunt of Wendell, Ida.; Robert A. Souter and Mrs. Thomas (Bernice) Martin [Mortenson] of Ogden; James R. Souter of Montana; Andrew R. Souter of Seattle Wash., and Catherine Souter of San Francisco; one brother and three sisters, John H. Souter of Salt Lake City; Mrs. William Wolgamott of San Francisco; Mrs. Edward J. Duckett and Elizabeth Souter of Provo.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist Mortuary in Ogden. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery at 2 p.m. with the grave dedicated by W. O. Facer, former bishop of the Provo Fifth Ward.
