Harrison "Harry" Roe Souter, 25, of 429 Liberty, died Sunday, in Shelby, Montana, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Souter was born March 8, 1926, in Provo, Utah, a son of Robert and Catherine Roe Souter. He attended school in Provo, graduating from Provo High School. He was a member of the LDS Fifth Ward [The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints] in Provo where he was active in Boy Scouts.
About five years ago, he moved to Ogden where he had since resided. He was a member of the Ogden 22nd Ward. His father operated the Souter Sign Company. During World War II, he served as a Merchant Marine from 1944 to 1945. He also served one year with the Air Force in 1949.
On Aug. 2, 1950, he married Madelyn Francis Shields in Evanston, Wyoming.
Surviving are his widow, his parents, [both of Ogden], the following brothers and sisters: Robert A. and James R. Souter and Mrs. Berniece S. Mortensen [of Ogden]; Catherine Souter [of] Salt Lake City; Mrs. Paul (Irma) Hunt [of] Buhl, [Idaho]; and Andrew R. Souter [of] Spokane, [Washington].
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at one p. m. at the mortuary [Lindquist and Sons Colonial Funeral Chapel], 3408 Washington. Friends may call at the mortuary tomorrow from six to nine p.m. and Thursday until time of services. Interment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park.
