SARAH E. SOUTER DIES AFTER
A LONG AND USEFUL LIFE
One of the saddest deaths which has occurred in Provo recently was that of Mrs. Sarah E. Souter of the second ward which occurred yesterday at 11 o'clock at her home after a lingering illness. The immediate cause of her death was diabitis [sic] from which she had suffered for some time. She 65 years of age on the second of May and was born in England and came to Utah in December of 1912. She and her family of seven children moved to Provo immediately upon coming to Utah and have lived here since that date. Mrs. Souter was a faithful member of the Latter Day [Latter-day] Saint Church and was a loving mother and devoted christian. She was very found [sic] of Provo and often spoke of its beauty.
The children who survive her are Hector N. [M.] Souter, Mrs. E. J. Duckett [Jessie], Robert and Andrew Souter, Elizabeth Souter, John H. Souter, of Bingham, Jennie Souter. All of the above children live in Provo except John. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters in Liverpool, England, and 11 grandchildren. The funeral will be held in the Second ward Meetinghouse Friday afternoon at 2:30.
Miss [sic] Elizabeth Souter has been Society editoress for the Provo Herald for years and the office force and many of our readers will be glad to extend thier [sic] hearty sympathy through the columns of this paper.
