Norman A. McDermott
Norman A. McDermott, 55 of 30 Cricket Drive, died suddenly Thursday morning at the Meriden Hospital.
Born in Meriden, son of the late Leo and Margaret O'Brien McDermott, he had lived in Meriden all of his life. During Word Was II, he served with the 251st Military Police in the European Theater of Operations for 32 months. Prior to his service he was employed as a supernumerary with the Meriden Police Department and after his return was employed with the US Postal Service retiring in 1965.
He was a parishioner of St. Rose Church, a member of the Holy Name Society of the parish, the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 6 and former member of the 4th Degree, Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Doohan McDermott; a brother Thomas R. McDermott of this city, five sisters, Mrs. Francis Fogg, Mrs. James Nolan and Miss Madeline McDermott and Mrs. James Stewart All of Meriden and Mrs. George Clark of Rocky Hill, one uncle and several nieces and nephews.
