R. L. Alcorn, 79, died at his home in Buffalo Valley on Saturday night, March 30. He has made his home in Buffalo Valley all his life, and was one of the most prosperous farmers in that section of the county. He has many friends throughout Putnam and adjoining counties. He is survived by seven sons and one daughter as follows: Lee Alcorn, Clayton Alcorn, Thurman Alcorn, Herman Alcorn, Mrs. Tinsley Garner, all of Buffalo Valley, Fred Alcorn, of Shelbyville; Will Alcorn, of Detroit, MI, and Walter Alcorn, of Baltimore, MD. Funeral services were held at his home on Tuesday, April 2.
