Funeral services for Herman P. Alcorn, 56, a resident of Rt. 2, Baxter, were held from the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston Funeral Home on Monday November 18 with Rev. William James officiating.
He died in the Cookeville General Hospital Saturday November 16, after a brief illness.
Mr. Alcorn was a native of Putnam County, the son of the late Robert L. and Josie Jones Alcorn. He had been employed by the Putnam County Education System for a number of years and at the time of his death, was a teacher at Cookeville Central High School.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Julian Alcorn; 2 sons, John David and Tommy Alcorn of Baxter; sister, Mrs. Hattie Garner, Cookeville; 3 brothers, T. D. Alcorn, Buffalo Valley, Fred Alcorn, Shelbyville, Walter Alcorn, Lancaster, MA.
Burial was in Cookeville City Cemetery.
