The following exerpt is from the "Ambrose Book" shared with me by my cousin Nola.
"Missouri Taylor moved to Turner County with her family in 1897 from Gwinnett County, Georgia when she was twelve years old. Before moving to Turner County, they moved to Coffee County to the town of Ambrose, Georgia. Her father owned a grocery store theren and during that time, Ambrose was given the name of her father. This is what Missouri told me."
"One day Mrs. Taylor and I were talking about when she was a girl and where she went to school. she told me she went to school in Gwinnett County, and the name of that school was Rabbit Hill. I laughed and said 'Rabbit Hill!' She said 'Yes.'"
Missouri married Solomon M Taylor on July 16, 1905, in Wilcox County. They had seven children in 16 years: Curtis Lee Taylor 1907–1976, Evelyn Taylor (Thompson) 1909–1934, Carrie Elizabeth Taylor (Paulk) 1912–2000, Hugh Dorsey "jack" Taylor 1916–1976, Jesse Carlton Taylor 1919–1979, Inez Tramilzia Taylor(Statham)(Harper) 1922–2001, and Solomon "Sam" Taylor Junior 1924–1993.
Mrs. Taylor was buried in Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery in Ben Hill County, Georgia.

Mrs. S. M. Taylor Sr. FITZGERALD, Ga.-Funeral services for Mrs. S. M. Taylor Sr., 81, who died Wednesday, will be held Saturday at the Old Prospect Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Survivors Include sons, Curtis, H. D., Jesse, and S. M. Taylor Jr., all of Fitzgerald; daughters, Mrs. W. W. Paulk, Atlanta, and Mrs. F. W. Harper, Ocilla; a brother, Scott Ambrose, Warner Robins, and a sister, Mrs. Ida Lamb, Ashburn.
