Funeral services were held May 16 at 2:30 p.m. at the Amboy Baptist Church for John Henry Ambrose.
Mr. Ambrose died May 14 at the Turner County Hospital. He was 74 years old.
Officiating at the last rites were the Rev. W. H. Wages and the Rev. Lonnie Tyler. Interment was at Rainey cemetery.
The church choir provided music for the services at which Buck Durham, Oliver Wynn, John Durham, C. R. Taylor, Emory Ambrose, and Alton Ambrose were pallbearers.
Mr. Ambrose was born February 22, 1880 in Gwinnett County, Georgia, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry N. Ambrose. He married the former Miss Jennie Roberts who survives him. Mr. Ambrose was a farmer, and he was a well-known member of the Amboy Baptist Church.
Other survivors are a son, John M. Ambrose of Gainesville, Florida, and two daughters, Mrs. C. D. Haralson of Rebecca and W. H. Jackson of Ashburn, Route 2.
Mr. Ambrose's brothers are Andrew Ambrose, Miami, Florida; Scott Ambrose, Warner Robins; Tom Ambrose, Sylvester. His sisters are Mrs. Azilee Mangum, Rebecca; Mrs. Missouri Taylor, Osierfield, and Mrs Ida Lamb, Ashburn.
