They had seven children in 14 years: Nancy Lillie Belle Ambrose (McGrotha) 1913–1948, Emory Newton Ambrose 1915–1996, Millard Cecil Ambrose 1919–1994, Eula Lee Ambrose (Dorminey) 1921–2011, Margaret Pauline Ambrose (Kendall)(Wallace) 1924–, and Pearlie Mae Ambrose (Watson) 1926–2009.
Mr. Ambrose died on November 15, 1967, in Warner Robins, Georgia, at the age of 76.

FORMER RESIDENT TAKEN BY DEATH
S. E. Ambrose, 78, former resident of Colquitt County, died Friday morning in Warner Robins, Georgia, after an illness of several months.
He was the father of Emory Ambrose of Moultrie.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Second Baptist Church of Water Robins, and the body will be returned to Colquitt County for burial in Oak Dale Cemetery.
Surviving Mr. Ambrose are three daughters, two of whom reside in Warner Robins, and another in Dublin; one Son, S. e. Ambrose, Moultrie; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
