William Andrew Ambrose , 84, died August 7, 1961 at the Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Dade County, Florida of Ventricular Fibrillation (heart arrhythmia) aggravated by years of suffering from asbestosis and chronic emphysema.

He was the son of Henry Newton Ambrose and Sarah Elizabeth Puckett. When William Andrew Ambrose was born on November 11, 1876, in Gwinnett, Georgia, his father, Henry, was 28 and his mother, Sarah, was 20.

He married Sarah Elizabeth "Sally" Bagwell (Ambrose) in 1897 in Tucker, Georgia. The new couple moved with his parents to Turner County in 1897. He was not happy in south Georgia, so he moved back with his young bride to North Georgia.

They had four children in 11 years: John Henry Ambrose 1900–1938, Horace Eugene Ambrose 1903–1975, Clifford Andrew Ambrose 1906–1976, and Paul Crumbly Ambrose 1911–2004.

William was a retired farmer.

After all of the children were grown and one of their sons, John Henry, had moved to Miami, Florida, Andrew and his wife, Sarah, decided to move to Miami, as well

Mr. Ambrose was buried on August 9, 1961 at the Flagler Memorial Park in Miami, Florida next to his beloved wife. Reid Lowe Funeral Home of Miami, Florida was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
