Funeral services for Thomas W. Ambrose, 71, who died unexpectedly at his home in Pitts, Tuesday, were held at 1 p.m. October 17 at the Church of God in Pitts with the Rev. Charlie Jones and the Re. Carl Powell officiating. Burial was in Oakdale Cemetery in Colquitt County.
A Native of Dekalb County, Mr. Ambrose was a member of the Pitts Church of God. He was a retired farmer and lived the major portion of his life in Worth and Colquitt Counties.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Ambrose of Pitts, a son, Curtis H. Ambrose of Miami, Florida; four stepsons, D. L. Johnson of Moultire, D. M. Johnson Tampa, Florida, William Clements of Lakeland, Florida, and Henning Clements of Lawton, Oklahoma; a stepdaughter, Mrs. L. A. Walters of Ocala, Florida; a brother, S. C. Ambrose of Warner Robins; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Lamb of Ashburn, Mrs. S.M. Taylor of Fitzgerald and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
