Andrew Marinus Christensen, 76, 456 E. 200 N., Provo, died Thursday in the Salt Lake LDS Hospital following surgery.
He was born Oct. 30, 1890, in Copenhagen [sic], Denmark, the son of Christian [Christen] and Ane "Annie" Hansen Christensen. He married Florence Naillon Christensen April 6, 1911, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mr. Christensen was an interior decorator and worked as a painter and decorator during most of his life.
He received his education in Provo City schools and had been a resident of Provo during most of his life. He was an avid sportsman and was an expert in making and designing children's furniture. He was an active member of the LDS Church and was a High Priest at the time of his death.
Surviving are his widow of Provo; three sons and four daughters; Andrew Max, Citrus Heights, Calif.; William G., American Fork; Richard B., Mrs. Byron (Fawn) Ferguson, Mrs. Mary C. Duckett, Mrs. Max W. (Norda) Simkins and Mrs. Ralph J. (Gloria) Kuhni, all of Provo; 31 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Hans and Marion Christensen, both Provo; Mrs. Hilda Christensen Christensen, Salt Lake City.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the Berg Drawing Room Chapel of Provo with Bishop Richard M. Pratt of the Provo Eighth Ward officiating. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday prior to services. Interment will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
