1918 - 1997
Norda Christensen Simkins, 79, departed from her earthly mission Aug. 29, 1997. She was born July 14, 1918, in Provo, Utah, to Andrew and Florence Naillon Christensen. She grew up in Provo and graduated from Provo High School . She attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City.
Norda married Max White Simkins Oct. 4, 1943, in the Salt Lake Temple. They had a wonderful life together which will now continue into eternity. Norda was a gracious, kind, and loving friend to all who knew her. She loved her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren, who were the jewels in her crown. She was a wonderful mother, and she served in many church assignments. She was always a hard worker. She was employed for 20 years at the Dixon Jr. High as a secretary.
She is survived by her son, James; his wife, Pam; their children: Heather, Jim, Josh, Hayley, Jake and Jared, of Tucson, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Kathy, and children: Slade, Daren and Megan, of Orem ; sisters: Fawn Ferguson, Mary Anhder and Gloria Kuhni, of Provo; brothers: Bill Christensen, of American Fork; and Dick Christensen, of Springville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max; son, Douglas; her parents, Andrew and Florence; and brothers: Jack and Max.
