Christen (aka: Christian, Chriss) was born in Denmark to Christian and Christiane Jorgensen/Jorgensdatter Christensen. While still in Denmark, at age 30, he married Ane Marie "Annie" Hansen in 1882. Nine years later, they immigrated to America with five of their seven children. My 2nd great-grandfather, Andrew, was their last child born in Denmark and was an infant when they made the the adventure together. Christen, 39, and Ane (aka: Anna or Annie as she was known here in the states) was about 37; upon their arrival in 1891. Their two youngest children, Hilda and Marion, were born in America.

Atlantic Ports Passenger Lists show that Christen made the trip again by himself departing 18 February 1911 from Liverpool, England on the SS Megantic. The passenger list states that he was working as a minister at the time. He arrived in Portland, Maine, on 27 February 1911 - destination Provo, Utah. Christen and Ane spent the remainder of their lives in Provo, Utah County, Utah, and were both buried in the Provo City Cemetery.
