Baptized in Pontoppidan Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND with his sister, Olga on December 31, 1897. His name is spelled "Robbert" in his baptism record and he also signed it as such into his teenage years. Son of Alfred and Anna Olson. Attended the Oak Grove School (District 106) and later the Oak Mound School. Farmed south of Moorhead and later purchased the family farm in Kragnes Township. He was a dairy farmer for many years. Married Judith Holte in 1931. He was a lifelong member of Oak Mound Congregational Church and was confirmed there. He was church treasurer, deacon, and trustee, served on the Oak Mound School Board as president, director of the Kragnes Farmers Elevator Board and president and treasurer of the Oakport-Kragnes Farmers Union. In 1912, he became a charter member of the Oak Mound Farmers Club and was also active in the Oak Mound Cemetery Association. Children - Phyllis, Robert, Orpha, Linda.

Robert E. Olson Of Kragnes Dies


Robert E. Olson, 59, a lifelong resident of Kragnes, Minn., died Sunday.


Born Aug. 22, 1897, he was a member of Oak Mound Congregational Church, the Oak Mound School Board, director of the Kragnes Farmers Elevator, and past president of the local Farmer's Union.


Besides his wife, the former Judith Holte, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Harry (Phyllis) Fillafer of rural Moorhead and Orpha and Linda at home; a son, Robert John, at home; a grandson, Richard, and four brothers, Alvin, Eben and Bennie of rural Moorhead, and Edward of 1316 3rd Ave. N., Moorhead. Two sister preceded him in death.


Funeral services will be 2 Wednesday at The First Congregational Church.


Burial will be at Oak Mound Cemetery. The Rev. Henry A. Campbell will officiate.


Pallbearers will be Oscar Andree, Julius Fossum, N. R. Nelson, Ervin Olson, Robert Peterson, Jr., and Andrew Larson.


The Merril Moore Mortuary is in charge.

He is survived by his wife, Judith Olson, formerly Judith Holte; and three daughters, Mrs. Harry Fillafer of Rural Moorhead; Orpha and Linda at home and one son, Robert John, at home, and one grandson, Richard. Also surviving are 4 brothers, Alvin, Eben, and Bennie Olson of rural Moorhead, and Edward Olson of Moorhead. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.


Robert Olson had been a member of the Oak Mound school board and was a director of the Kragnes Farmers Elevator and was a past president of the county and the local Farmers Union. He was a lifelong member of the Oak Mound Congregational Church.
