Paul Rausenberger, 96, of Westbrook died April 6, 1999, at the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center. Services were held at Grace Lutheran Church in Westbrook. Interment was in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Rosehill Township, Westbrook.
Paul Edward Rausenberger, son of Jacob and Emma (Grams) Rausenberger, was born Aug. 5, 1902, in Rosehill Township, Cottonwood County. He was baptized and confirmed at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. He attended School District #48 Country School in Rosehill Township. In 1930, he married Helen Kuehl. They farmed south of Westbrook until 1955 when they purchased and operated the former Westbrook Hotel. Paul worked for the Westbrook Light Plant and retired in 1969 when they moved to Westbrook. Both Paul and Helen became residents of the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center in 1993. He was an active member of the Rosehill Emmanuel Lutheran Church where he served as a Deacon. Later he was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; five brothers, Henry, William, Walter, George and Alfred; and three sisters, Freda Busswitz, Nellie Comnick and Stella Jensen. Survivors include his daughter, Vernette (Curtis) Passmore of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Ann Lidtke of Westbrook; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
