Funeral services were held at 10:30 am, Monday (August 26, 1996) at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Westbrook, with the reverend Gordon Trelstad officiating. Burial was at the Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Rosehill Township.
George Rudolph Rausenberger was born April 13, 1905 in Rosehill Township, Cottonwood County, the son of the late Jacob and Emma (Grams) Rausenberger. He was Baptized and Confirmed in the Lutheran Faith at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Rosehill Township and grew up in that area on his parents' farm. He attended District #48 country school in Rosehill Township and then worked at farming throughout his life. He was united in marriage to Myrtle Spielman on November 20, 1940 at the Fred Spielman residence in Dovray Township, Murray County. Following their marriage, the couple operated a farm in Rosehill Township, until 1953, when they relocated to a farm in Westbrook Township, and operated it until retiring in 1980, and moving to the City of Westbrook. On July 25, 1995 George entered the Westbrook Good Samaritan Center, due to declining health, and resided there until he passed away on Thursday, August 22, 1996, at the age of 91 years, 4 months and 11 days. George was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Westbrook. He was a farmer all his life and in his early farming years, enjoyed working with the horses that were used for fieldwork.
Survivors include: His wife, Myrtle of Westbrook; 2 sisters, Ann Lidtke of Westbrook and Stella Jensen of Westbrook; 1 Brother, Paul Rausenberger of Westbrook; Many Nieces, Nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters.
