WYOMING - MRS ELVA A BRODERSEN
Mrs. Elva A. Brodersen, 90, formerly of Wyoming, died Monday in John McDonald Hospital, Monticello.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Wyoming Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.
Visitation is until 9 p.m. today in Hayden Funeral Home, Olin.
She was born in Madison Township in Jones County, March 9, 1887, to Alton and Lizzie Saxon Alden. She married Thomas Brodersen Feb. 26, 1913, in Wyoming. The couple farmed in the Wyoming area until his death in 1954.
Mrs. Brodersen attended Coe College, Cedar Rapids and taught music in Wyoming for several years.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Betz, Playa Del Rey, Calif., and Mrs. Ronald (Jean) Harness, Grandview, MO.; a son, William, Olin: six grandchildren: 16 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert, Wyoming.
