Obituary, December 2, 1918
Death of Mrs. Hallowell

Mrs. Arsetta Shockley Hallowell expired Sunday evening at her home in Kempton, widow of Frank Hallowell, died at 5 o'clock of stomach trouble from which she had been a sufferer for several months. Mrs. Hallowell, who was the daughter of Daniel B. and Jamima McIntire Shockley, pioneers of the Kempton vicinity was born near Kempton and was 59 years, 3 months and 29 days old at the time of her death. She was married twice, her first husband being Charles Clark of that vicinity, who died several years ago. Her second marriage was to Frank Hallowell, whose death took place the fifteenth of March 1918.
There were no children born to either union. She is survived by three brothers; Jack, John and George Shockley, and one sister, Mrs. Sally Bristow of Frankfort. Mrs. Hallowell was a devoted member of the M. E. church at Kempton and was a woman of lovable qualities, a good neighbor and a warm-hearted friend, and leaves a wide circle of friends who mourn her death.
