Charles D. Mummert

HANOVER - Charles D. Mummert, 87, of the Brethren Home at Cross Keys, formerly of Hanover, died Friday morning at the home, where he resided the past four months. He was the husband of Ruth E. (Miller) Mummert. The couple observed their 56th wedding anniversary June 12.
The service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St Paul's (Dubs) Church, Hanover RD 10. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewings will be 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.
Mr. Mummert was born in Hanover. He was the son of the late Harry and Emma J. (Sterner) Mummert.
He was a greenhouse grower with Cremer Florist in Hanover for over 40 years, retiring in 1969. He also had been employed with the custodial department of Hanover Industrial Machine Co. for three years. He was a member of the Lutheran Congregation of St. Paul's (Dubs) Church, the Community Club of St. Jacob's (Stone) Church, Glenville, and a former member of Hanover Chapter No. 669 of the American Association of Retired Persons.
Mr. Mummert also is survived by a sister, Romaine Renoll of Hanover; and several nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the service will be his pastor, the Rev. Russell N. Burr.
