Ira M. Mummert, 67, of 64 Forry Avenue, husband of Mrs. Esther May (Gotwalt) Mummert, died Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the Hanover General Hospital, after a brief illness. He was a native Pennsylvanian, a son of the late Harry and Emma Sterner Mummert. He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of St. Peter's (Lischey's) Union Church, near Spring Grove. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons and two daughters, Burnell H. Mummert, Hanover R.D. 1; Walter A. Mummert, 436 South High Street; Mrs. Anna M. Thomas, Palmyra, and Miss Doris B. Mummert, at home; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and three brothers and two sisters, Ervin Mummert, York Street; John Mummert, George Street; Charles Mummert, Forry Avenue; Mrs. Edna Myers, York R.D. 6, and Mrs. Romaine Renoll, Manchester, Md. The funeral service will be held at the Wetzel Funeral Home, Carlisle Street, Saturday at 2 p.m. Officiating will be his pastor, the Rev. Milton Arndt. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday evening.
