Harold R. Fair, 59, of 1840 Tuscarawas Road, Brighton Township, died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 1971, in Rochester General Hospital, following a five-month illness. Born Dec. 5, 1911 in Punxsutawney, Pa., he was a resident of Brighton Township for the past 16 years, and a former resident of Baden and New Brighton. Mr. Fair was a member of the United Methodist Church, Baden, where he was a trustee of the church and chairman of the building council of the church since 1955, a youth leader in the church, active in Boy Scout work, formerly active in the Ambridge area Community Chest, and employed as senior cost estimator for American Bridge Division U.S. Steel Corp., Pittsburgh. Surviving are his wife, Betty McCalmont Fair; his mother, Mrs. Viola Fair, New Brighton; two brothers, Clifford Jr., New Brighton, and Dr. John, Evans City; four sisters, Mrs. Stanley (Evelyn) Garvin, and Mrs. Frank (Vivian) McGowan, both of New Brighton, Mrs. Robert (Jane) Fields, Patterson Township, and Mrs. Patrick (Dorothy) Flaherty, New Brighton. His father, Dr. Clifford Fair, formerly of New Brighton, passed away this year. Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the J.T. Anderson Jr. Funeral Home, 205 College Ave., Beaver, where a service will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m., by his pastor, Rev. Ralph Ruby. Interment will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery, Economy Borough. Friends may, if they wish, send memorial contributions to the Baden United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
