Evelyn "Eve" Garvin, 92, a life-long resident of New Brighton, died Tuesday, July 19, 2005, in The Medical Center Beaver. Born April 4, 1913, in Chickasaw, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Dr. Clifford Roy and Iva Viola Davis Fair. She was an employee of the J.C. Penney Company and was a grocery store demonstrator for various meat companies. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, New Brighton; Order of Eastern Star 124 and the Charlie's Angels of the Lighthouse in New Brighton. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Stanley "Turk" Garvin; a daughter and son-in-law, Judie and Raymond Giles; a daughter-in-law, Dona (Harris) Garvin; four grandsons and their spouses, Raymond and Lisa Giles Jr. and Jeffery and Becky Giles, both of Beaver Falls, and Stanley and Tammy Giles and Mark and Lorie Garvin, both of Ellwood City; 12 great-grandchildren, Stanley and Renee, Jesse and Melissa, Nick, Ryan, Shannon and Matt, Brittny, Tiffany, Harley, Adam, Blake, Lacy and Lexus; three great-great-grandchildren, Mathew, Shelby and Hailey; a sister, Jane Fields, Beaver Falls, and a sister-in-law, Jean Fair, Zelienople. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Stanley F. "Pete" Garvin, in 2002; four brothers, Harold, Clifford "Kip", Richard "Dickie", and Dr. John "Jack" D. Fair, and two sisters, Vivian McGowan and Dorothy Flaterty. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the CAMPBELL'S NEW BRIGHTON FUNNERAL HOME, 1133 Penn Ave., www.campbellfuneralhomes.com, where a service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. with her pastor, the Rev. Rico Vespa officiating. Private entombment will follow in Sylvania Hills Mausoleum, Daugherty Township. The family of Evelyn Garvin wishes to express their sincere thank you to the staff of the Beaver Valley Nursing Center for all the loving care she received for the five months of her illness.
