Dorothy J. Fair Flaherty, 68, of New Brighton, died Sunday, June 16, 1996, in her home. Born June 27, 1927, in New Brighton, a daughter of the late Dr. Clifford R. and Viola Davis Fair, she was a retired admissions clerk at The Medical Center, Beaver, retiring in 1994 after 16 years of service. She was a member of American Legion Anderson-Adkins Post 19 and the Grace United Methodist Church, both of New Brighton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick Flaherty; two brothers, Harold and Richard Fair, and a sister, Vivian McGowan. Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen "Kitty" McCoy, New Brighton; a son and daughter-in-law, Terrence and Gwen Flaherty, Plano, Texas; four grandchildren, Michael R. Jr. and Timothy P. McCoy, both of New Brighton; Jennifer J. McCoy, Pittsburgh, and Cailin Flaherty, in Texas, and a grandson to be born in July; a sister-in-law, Betty Fair, Sebring, Ohio; a sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Stanley Garvin, New Brighton; a brother and sister-in-law, Clifford "Kip" and Jean Fair, Beaver; a brother-in-law Frank McGowan, New Brighton; a brother and sister-in-law, Dr. John "Jack" and Dorothy Fair, Evans City and a sister, Mrs. Jean Fields, Chippewa Township. Friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the CAMPBELL'S NEW BRIGHTON FUNNERAL HOME, 1133 Penn Ave., where a service will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. Her pastor, the Rev. Nelson T. Thayer, will officiate. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, New Brighton.
