In 1907 Ralph moved to Edmonton to work for the Strathcona Brewery - an odd choice as Prohibition was declared in Alberta in 1916. Two of his brothers had already moved West - Andrew a doctor and John a blacksmith.
About 1912 Ralph married Ethel from Quebec and had a daughter, Marion, who later married Darrell Craig in Michigan. The young couple eventually settled in Florida.
