Aline Eliza Mitchell was the tenth of eleven children born to Russell Crawford Mitchell (1837-1905) and his first wife Deborah Margaret Sweet (1847-1887). She married Willis M. Timmons.

Mrs. Timmons "belonged to many civic and patriotic organizations, incluging the UDC, the DAR, Pioneer Women, and she was an active member of the First Methodist Church. She attended Miss Thornberry's School for Ladies." (From "Atlanta and Environs" by Harold H. Martin)

Mrs. Timmons was an aunt of Margaret Mitchell (Mrs. John Marsh) who wrote "Gone with the Wind."
