Mildred Irene Bell James, 84, of Greenup, died at 2:35 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 1997 at Heartland Manor in Casey.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 9th., at Barkley funeral Home in Greenup, IL. The Rev. Hugh Smith will officiat. Burial will be in the Aten Cemetery, Hidalgo, Il.

Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mildred was born March 26, 1912 in Chrisman, IL. the daughter of Charles Clinton and Sarah Elizabeth Strader Bell. She married John Raymong James on Jan. 9, 1932 and would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on the day of her burial. Raymond survives.

Other survivors include sons; Leonard James, John James, Walter James, Lloyd James and Doyle James; daughters, Delores Finn, Mary Louise Oakley and Doris Ann Miller; brothers, Robert Bell, Ervin Bell; sisters, Margaret Bell, Mabel Wilfong Hummel, Mary Hart and Minnie Brown; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by an un-named son, six brothers, one sister, and one grandson, Scott Finn.

She was a homemaker and retired from T.R.W.
