Margaret E. Bell, 95, of Urbana, passed away at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009, at the Champaign County Nursing Home in Urbana.

She was born Feb. 2, 1914, in Quaker, Ind., the daughter of Chas C. and Sara Elizabeth (Strader) Bell. Margaret is survived by 53 nieces and nephews; and the two children that she helped raise that where like family to her. She was preceded in death by her parents and 14 brothers and sisters.

Margaret worked as a nanny for the Block family and worked in their ice cream shop. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and loved to read. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Alton, Ill.

A celebration of the life of Margaret Bell will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Sunset Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Danville. Burial will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery in Ridge Farm. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at the funeral home.

Memorial donations in Margaret's name can be made to the organization of the donor's choice.
