Mrs William Schuler, 68, well known resident of State Center, died at her home here Tuesday following a long illness. She had been in poor health since last fall when she submitted to an operation. Death resulted from carcinoma.

Funeral services will be held at the home Thursday at 1:30 pm and at St Paul's Lutheran church at 2:00 pm in charge of Rev H P Kumpf. Burial will be in Hillside cemetery.

Mrs Schuler was born Caroline Rittierodt in Rittieroda, Brunswick, Germany Nov 23, 1872, and was confirmed in the Lutheran church in Germany in 1887. She came to America in 1891 at the age of 16 and was married to William Schuler at State Center March 5, 1893. He died here Nov 2, 1928.

She is survived by seven sons and daughters, Clarence, William and Mildred Schuler, Mrs Harry Greiner, Mrs George Buck and Mrs Kenneth Loney, all of State Center, and Arnold Schuler of Colo. One other son preceded her in death. Two brothers, Fred and Henry Rittierodt of Albion, 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.

Mrs Schuler was a member of St Paul's Lutheran church of State Center.

Funeral services for Mrs Caroline Schuler, who passed away May 21st at her home, were held at 1:30 at the house Thursday and 2:00 p.m. at St Paul's Lutheran Church. Rev H P Kumpf was in charge of the services. Pallbearers were August Schaper, Otto Westphal, Henry Henze, Harvey Hilleman, Wilbur Hilleman and Chris Jessen.

Flower girls were Ildra Pfantz, Arlene and Vernice Buck, Helen and Evelyn Schuler, Mrs Clarence Schaper, Mrs Fred Weuve, Miss Lorene Rittierodt and Miss Dorothy Buschbom.

Burial was in Hillside cemetery. Friends and relatives from out of town were Mr and Mrs Fred Rittierodt, Mr and Mrs Henry Rittierodt and Mrs Henry Vogt, all of Albion, Mr and Mrs Will Daniels and Mrs Darwin Renbarger of Grinnell, Mrs Ed Rubenbauer of Dillon, Mr and Mrs Foley and Helen and Mrs Heintz of Nevada, Mr and Mrs Ed Schuler of Zearing and Mr and Mrs Theodore Doser of St Anthony, and many others from surrounding towns.
