Sarah Elizabeth Puckett Ambrose died at the age of 26 in 1882 in Turner County, Georgia. She was the wife of Henry Newton Ambrose. She was the daughter of Harris and Sarah Waters Puckett. To their union, they had four children: William Andrew Ambrose (1876-1921), , Mildred Asilee Ambrose Mangum (1878-1957), John Henry Ambrose (1880-1954), and Nancy Elizabeth "Lizzie" Ambrose Owens (1882-1930).

Sarah died in May 1882 shortly after Lizzie was born. Elizabeth must have known she was going to die because she told her husband, Henry, if she could have one wish it would be to have her first cousin, Nancy Elizabeth Baily to help raise her Children. Sarah Elizabeth is buried near Tucker Georgia, but she has a memorial stone in Rainey Cemetery.
