Michael and Elizabeth Lauer were the parents of John Jacob, born January 8, 1817 and baptized on July 31, 1817 at the Christ Reformed Church in Schoenersville, Lehigh County, PA. The sponsors were John Baljat (i.e. Balliet, Elizabeth's brother??) and Polly (Elizabeth's sister??). See page 28, LDS film # 1029736.
Michael Lower of Carbon County, Pennsylvania and Elizabeth, his wife, late Elizabeth Balliet, daughter and heir of Jacob Balliet, Northampton County, Pennsylvania and Barbara Balliet, Delaware Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, were paid $150 by John Dentler on June 24, 1856. Deed recorded June 27, 1859.
Michael Lower, 69, Elizabeth Lower, 66, and their (granddaughter?), Emeline, 19, were last listed in the 1860 census living in Franklin Township, Carbon County, PA. No further census listings were found.
