Services will be held at 2 p.m. today in Walnut Creek Baptist Church near Montrose. Burial will be in Cook Family Cemetery in Montrose. The Revs. Clyde Bowen, Horace Slay, and Eugene Zeigel will officiate.
A Dodge County native, the Rev. Yancey lived in Wilkinson County most of his life. He was the son of the late Ben Davis Yancey and Clara Beatrice Polk Yancey and a retired farmer and merchant.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Lee C. Yancey of Montrose; three sons, Breeman Yancey of Montrose, Max Yancey of Dublin and David Yancey of Macon; two daughters, Pauline Y. White of Bonaire and Nellie Y. Hamm of Warner Robins; a brother, Joseph Yancey of Lake City, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Y. Kelly of Macon; 17 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
