Mrs. Martha Terrell Leech, a resident of Macon county for sixty-nine years, died at 7:30 o'clock Thursday morning at her home, 269 South Webster street. She was eighty-three years old last May. Her death was due to the infirmities of age.
Mrs. Leech was born in Girard county, Ky. May 16, 1839. She came with her parents to Macon county in the fall of 1853, making the trip overland in covered wagons. The family settled on the old Boardman farm, south of Decatur.
Mrs. Leech was the widow of David Leech. They were married in Christian county, March 27, 1856. Mr. Leech died seventeen years ago last September. Four children were born to them, all of whom are living. They are Mrs. Nannie I. Giffin, Arista Leech, Edward Leech and Mrs. Lewis Koehler, all of Decatur. She also leaves seven brothers and one sister.There are twelve grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at the residence, 269 South Webster street.
