Lucille Boone Kimbrell passed away on October 24, 2009 at the home of her son Timothy Kimbrell in Macon, Georgia after an extended illness. Lucille was born June 3, 1935 to her parents John Nathan Boone and Viola Conley Boone in Boonford, Mitchell County, North Carolina. She attended Bowman Elementary and Bowman High School in Bakersville, North Carolina where she was a cheerleader. In 1952 she met Jessie Benjamin Kimbrell while he was in the U. S. Army. She later married Jessie and moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Together they had three sons; Nathan Anthony "Tony" Kimbrell, Timothy Grant "Tim" Kimbrell, and Thomas Jason "Tommy" Kimbrell, all who are surviving along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Lucille loved entertaining and cooking for family and friends. Holidays and Christmas were very special for her as she and Jessie would host parties and gatherings for family and friends at their home. Springtime would also be very special for Lucille and Jessie as they would always grow a beautiful garden full of vegetables. Family, friends and neighbors would come throughout the growing seasons to enjoy their beautiful harvests. She loved to can and freeze food for the whole family to enjoy. She was famous for making apple pies, sour kraut, pickled corn, pickled beans, jellies, pear preserves and other things she either canned or froze.

Lucille loved to visit with family and friends throughout the day either in person or on the phone. She never met a stranger and never forgot those she met. She loved to share memories and the good times which she never failed to remember. Cooking breakfast was one of her special times for the family to come and enjoy great biscuits and a huge table full of great food. In addition, July 4th was a special time to have barbeques or fish fries that were always enjoyed by family, friends and neighbors alike.

A memorial service was held at the home of Keith and Sondra Boone in Suwanee, Georgia to celebrate the life of Lucille. Approximately 100 family and friends attended the service. Her remains have been placed at Rebels Creek Cemetery in Boonford, North Carolina.

Lucille is in no more pain and suffering and is now in heaven with her loving husband Jessie enjoying the beauties of heaven the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has in store for each of us.
