Arby enlisted in the Army at age 25, on 2/20/1941. He was a veteran of WW11. He saw action in France and Germany. In Germany he was injured after enemy fire blew up a fox hole. He was awarded the Purple Heart. On March 29, 1946 he married Juanita Green. Arby Earl Boone retired from Interna­tional Mineral and Chemical Corp.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Green Boone; a daughter, Deborah Boone of Knoxville; three sisters, Lena Howell of Newdale, Margaret Howell of Kingman, Ariz., and Lucille Kimbrell of Rex, Ga.; eight brothers, Frank Boone of Spruce Pine, John Boone and John Nathan Boone Jr., both of Bakersville, Charles Boone of Fort Walton, Fla., Worley Boone of Conover, How­ard and Donald and half brother Ronnie Boone, all of Atlanta, Ga.; three stepbrothers, James and Virgil Boone Jr., both of Atlanta, Dr. John L. McLucas of Alexandria,Virginia ; and a sister Jean McLucas Hamer of South Carolina. Services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Webb Funeral Home. The Rev. R. M. Cas­sity officiated. Burial was in Rebel's Creek Cemetery.
