Funeral services were to be conducted this afternoon (Thursday) for Noah Cornelius, 43, who died Monday morning following a heart attack. Mr. Cornelius suffered the attack early that morning while at work at the service station at Hobsonway and Spring Street, owned by his brother, Silas Cornelius. He was rushed to Palo Verde hospital in a hospital ambulance, but was pronounced dead on arrival. Born in Texas, he had lived in Blythe for nearly two years. He and Mrs. Ila Casey were united in matrimony on January 8, just one week prior to his death. The funeral services were to be conducted in the Community Methodist church, with Rev. James Dinkel, pastor, officiating. Burial was to be in Palo Verde cemetary under direction of Larsen Mortuary. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Illa Cornelius of Blythe, a son, Roger Cornelius of Blythe; his mother Mrs. Jessie K. Cornelius of Zephyr, Texas; and seven brothers, Silas, Solomon, and Roland, all of Blythe; Olen of Robert Lee, Texas, and Darvin (sic) and Ruby Cornelius, both of Zephyr."
