My Dad, Walter Darwin (W.D.) Cornelius, was the ninth child of Walter R. Cornelius and Jessie K. Locke. He married my mother, Katherine Marie Couch, September 9, 1936 in Blanket Texas. Three children, currently living, were born this marriage.

He was a huge sports fan and played on several softball teams in Brownwood in his early years. He could bat or throw both right handed and left handed.

For most of his adult life he worked the aircraft industry -- helping build aircraft at North American during World War II and later repairing aircraft for various companies in Brady, San Antonio and Garland, Texas.

Just prior to retirement he worked as a guard at the 3M Plant in Brownwood Texas. Although it was far too short, he enjoyed his retirement years.
