Ruby was the sixth child of Walter R. Cornelius and Jessie K. Locke. He married Minnie "Muncie" K. Bell December 10, 1931 in Comanche County Texas.
Ruby lived on the old Cornelius homeplace just outside Zephyr where he farmed. Ruby was also an excellent mechanic and had his own work shop.
