Born in Lieste, Hanover, Germany, Adelheid Boettcher came to this country with her parents in 1858, when she was eight years old. The family settled in Third Creek township and she married Christian Schunemeyer in 1879. Four children were born to this union, one son died in infancy. Sometime after the death of her husband, she lived with her son, Louis, near New Woollam. She died in New Haven at the home of her daughter, Mary, wife of Lee Schulte.
The Schunemeyer couple had four children: One son died in infancy. Those that survive Mrs.Schunemeyer are Mary, wife of Lee Schulte, of New Haven, at whose home she died, Louis, with whom she made her home, near New Woollam, Frank, of Nebraska, one sister, Mrs. Louis Neese, Sr., of Bland, and one brother, George Boettcher, of Talmage, Nebraska.
