Heinrich Bötjer married Gesche Adelheid Drücker 6 October 1837. They and children immigrated to the USA arriving at New Orleans 26 Nov 1859 on the ship Edmund. Heinrich Boettcher, age 44, was from Hannover and destination was Missouri. Settling in Gasconade County, MO, he farmed near Woollam/Woolam. MO death record database indicates that Mr. Boettcher died of consumption of three months duration; reporting physician was Ernest/Ernst Mellies, Woollam.

A portion of Heinrich Boettcher's obituary in Der Christliche Apologete, translation is courtesy of Pastor John Clausing, follows:

born in Leeste, Sieke, Kingdom of Hanover and died blessed in the Lord. He died of deterioration and weakness of age. He came about 24 years ago with his family to America and joined the work of Brother Brune. For 20 years he was active and a member of the church. Five children preceded him to eternity and seven, those still living, next to his sorrowing wife, look to him in hope. Bland, Missouri- F.M. Rohde
