Mrs. James White.
Mrs. Mary C. White, widow of James White, died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the home of her son, Eugene B. White, at Utica.
She was born Sept. 18, 1859, in Mercer County, a daughter of James and Elizabeth Aman Dillie. She pioneered in the west in covered wagons in her early childhood. She attended school in Indiana, Illinois and Iowa.
The deceased was married to Mr. White on Aug. 19, 1879. To that union were born seven children: a son, Forest E., preceded her in death in 1912.
The following children survive: Eugene B., Utica; Dalton C., of Franklin; Mrs. Edna Fletcher, of Sandy Lake; Mrs. Edith Harriger, of Cleveland; Donald L., of Beaver, and Mrs. Alice Keltz, of Erie. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Hattie Smith, of Black Ash. Most of her married life was spent on Buttermilk Hill.
She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Canal Township.
A short prayer service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the White home at Utica, followed by the funeral services at 2 p.m. in the Lupher Chapel. Burial will be in the family lot of the Lupher Chapel Cemetery.
