Elizabeth was a daughter of George Amon & Elizabeth Gundy. She married James M Dille around 1846. They had eight children: Jane Hester, George Alfred, Lewis Alexander, Amanda Elizabeth, Mary Caroline, Effie Matilda, Hattie Elise and James Curtis.

James and Elizabeth seemed conflicted as to where they wanted to live. This may have been due to his profession of a minister. They made at least two trips west and both times returned to Pennsylvania. It was very likely James was following his half-brothers, William, John and Samuel, along with a half-sister Sarah, who had moved to Warren County, Illinois around 1840. In 1850, James and his young family lived in Sandy Lake Township of Mercer County. Sometime prior to the outbreak of Civil War, James and family were in Iowa, as that was where daughter Elizabeth Amanda was born. James and family returned to their home state prior to the war as he served in the Pennsylvania Cavalry in 1861. Per the 1870 census, the family was again out west in Indiantown, Bureau County, Illinois. A son, James Curtis, was born in Illinois. All of the remaining children were born in Pennsylvania. By 1880, the family was back in Mercer County.

Per the Venango County Death Index, Elizabeth died of dropsy after battling the illness for three years. After the death of Elizabeth, James married Sophia Bron, widow of Eugene Lyautey on Jun 28, 1898 in Guys Mill, Crawford Co, PA.

Oil City Derrick, November 5, 1894:
Mrs. James Dille, wife of the late Rev. James Dille, aged 40 years, died of complication of diseases and old age at her home at Bradleytown. The deceased had been a resident of Bradleytown or vicinity for many years and was loved and respected by all. The funeral took place on Sunday.
