Maj. Rogers, of the U. S. Air Force * WW II

Maj. George T. Rogers, 46, St. Louis, died at 12:20 p.m. Thursday, June 2, in St. Luke's hospital, St. Louis, after a lingering illness, A former Sparta resident, he was a member of West End Church of Christ, St. Louis. Maj. Rogers, of the U. S. Air Force Reserves, had been serving in the U. S. Army Aviation Material Command in St. Louis. He was an aeronautical engineering technician and a veteran of World War II. Major Rogers is survived by his wife, Fannie; two daughters, Carol and Linda and two sons, Ronnie and Larry, all of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rogers, Sparta; six sisters, Mrs. Susie Johns, Sparta, Mrs. Vivien Johns and Mrs. Blanche Goins, Bruner, Mrs. Bessie Arms. Springfield, Mrs. Arlene Goins, Groveland, Ill., Mrs. Pauline Ryals, Morton, Ill; four brothers, Bennie of Eugene, Charles of Springfield, Pletcher of Sparta and John of Kansas City. Funeral services were at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the Sparta Church of Christ with Sterl A. Watson officiating. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery under direction of Harris of Ozark.
