Blanche Anna (Rogers) Goins went home to be with her Lord and loved ones on Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 12:45 p.m., in her home in Bruner. Blanche, daughter of Louis and Anna Pletcher Rogers, was born October 27, 1912, in Ochiltree, TX. She became a Christian at a very early age, dedicating her life to God. She was a homemaker, caregiver and a member of the Bruner Baptist Church. On July 18, 1934, she was united in marriage to Roy Edward Goins, Sr. in Ochiltree, Texas, and to this union five children were born, Roy Edward, Jr., Harvey Allen, James Louis, Juanita Ann and George Thomas. Blanche loved her Lord and was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, friend and neighbor. Blanche was preceded in death by an infant son Harvey; her husband Ed; her mother and father; one sonic-law, Ival Roller; two brothers, Benny and George Rogers; and two sisters, Gladys King and Bessie Arms. She is survived by three sons, Roy Goins and wife Connie of Bruner, James Goins and wife Tracy of Bruner, and George Goins and friend Janet of Ridgedale, MO; one daughter, Juanita Roller of Ridgedale; four sisters, Arlene Goins of Brownsville, TX, Pauline Ryals of Morton, IL, Vivian Johns and husband Glen of Springfield, Susie Johns and husband I.J. of Sparta; three brothers, John Rogers and friend Margaret of Liberty, MO, Pletcher Rogers and wife Bonnie of Sparta, Charles Rogers and wife Wilma of Sparta; 16 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; one uncle, Harvey Pletcher of Perryton, TX; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and neighbors. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004, in Barnes Family Funeral Home, Ozark, with Rev. Jerry Loveland and Rev. Allan Maggard officiating. Burial will follow in Sparta Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Southwest Missouri. Springfield News-Leader, May 28, 2004.
