Services were held on April 12, 2023 with interment at Missouri Veterans Cemetery. He was married to Bonnie Shortt for 70 years. Together they had 7 children. Pletcher was also blessed with an extended family of 26 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Pletcher worked at Caterpillar, Inc., served in the military, and was Police Chief in Sparta and Ozark, Missouri. He was honored as the Patriot of the Month November 2021 United States Air Force. He was drafted November 1951. His basic training was at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas and Shepherd AFB, Wichita Falls, Texas. Next, he went to Airborne radio Operator School at Kessler AFB, Biloxi, Mississippi. In September of 1952 Pletcher was sent to Ashiya Airfield Kyushu Island in the southern part of Japan until May of 1953. As part of the 483d Troop Carrier Group he flew in a C-119 Flying Boxcar to Japan. Pletcher was in Suwon and Kunsan. He was honorably discharged. Pletcher was in the Air Force Reserve (NARS)Selfridge, AFB Michigan until 1959. Corporal Rogers earned the Korea Service Medal and United Nations Medal, Medallion and Certificate.
Pletcher was the next to the youngest of eleven children. He was united in marriage in February 1951 to Bonnie Shortt.
