Funeral services for Mrs. Olla Mae Cox Barber, 68, wife of W. A. Barber, were held at the Cox Cemetery September 6, 1948, with the Rev. John Strozier of Trout conducting the services. Mrs. Barber died at her home on Route Two. Burial was under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Acting as pallbearers wee Clayton Holmes, E. Kenney, Elisha Barber, Lewis Barber, Richard Barber and M. L. Wilson.

Mrs. Barber was the mother of eight children, six of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Mertie Bartley, Jordan Hill; Mrs. Albert Green and Tommie Barber, Beulah Community; Elvie Barber, Curry; Mrs. Bernittie Duke [sic Bernettie], Miss Lizzie Katheryn Barber of Detroit, Mich.

She also leaves her husband, W. A. Barber, one sister, Mrs. Dora Kenney, and 20 grandchildren.

She had been a member of the Lewis Chapel Church since 1918.
